The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is a modern multi campus university serving the West of Scotland. The Paisley campus, where the conference is to be held, lies just outside the vibrant city of Glasgow and about an hour by train to the country’s capital and cultural hotspot, Edinburgh. Paisley is world famous for being the birthplace of the ‘Paisley Pattern’ (the teardrop pattern of the Paisley Shawl), a colorful and beautiful representation of the town’s manufacturing past. A short journey out of Paisley takes you into the beautiful and mountainous scenery of Loch Lomond (http://www.lochlomond.trossachs.org)
whilst a little further takes you to the edge of the Scottish Highlands with its remarkable landscape, castles, and battlegrounds. The West of Scotland also has interesting islands like Isle of Cumbrae (https://www.visitscotland.com/info/townvillages/cumbrap24259) which is very popular with tourists.
