About The IIMA

The Mission of The International Information
Management Association

The International Information Management Association was founded in 1989, with the mission to provide a unique blend of high-quality academic research combined with social interaction. As an example of that commitment to academic research, IIMA originally published a journal called the Journal of International Information Management (JIIM), ISSN 1063-519X. This journal was published until 2001 when its name was changed to the Journal of International Technology and Information Management (JITIM), ISSN 1543-5962, a double blind reviewed publication; as well as the Communications of the IIMA (CIIMA), ISSN 1543-5970, a double blind reviewed publication of manuscripts presented at the IIMA yearly conference. Both journals are listed in Cabell's.

During the conferences, it is not unusual for every IIMA member to attend all paper presentations. This combination of academic excellence and friendly interaction creates a collegial atmosphere that is usually missing from other conferences. The majority of our members know each other on a first name basis and regularly communicate and collaborate throughout the year. If you choose to join us at one of our conferences, you will immediately notice the difference.

For those of you that are interested in IIMA publications:

The Journal of International Technology and Information Management (JITIM), ISSN 1543-5962, is a double, blind peer-reviewed journal that is publishes four issues a year. The standards for article acceptance are high, resulting in a top-notch publication opportunity. IIMA members and non-members alike are encouraged to submit their research to the journal for review. Special issues of the journal are occasionally published on specific topics. Cabell's Directory 9th edition, Management, page 1548 Volume 3. Watch this web site for announcements concerning these special issues.

The Communications of the IIMA (CIIMA "SeeMa"), ISSN 1543-5970, is published four times a year featuring articles that have been presented at our yearly conference.
Manuscripts are blind reviewed by a minimum of 2 members of the editorial board. CIIMA is not a proceedings and manuscripts published in this journal meet a special editorial standard of excellence and relevance. Cabell's Directory is 9th Edition, Management, Pg 265 Volume 1.
